PM Orbán signs agreement for project to transport gas from Azerbaijan

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has signed a declaration along with the presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania to establish a gas-transport connection between Azerbaijan and Romania and Hungary via Georgia, Prime Ministerial Spokesman Péter Szijjártó said.

The declaration states that the signatories will support the project whose objective is to “diversify the transport of hydrocarbon resources through the connection of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary.”

Orbán is participating in a summit on Tuesday in Baku, Azerbaijan, regarding the proposed gas-transport project along with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia and President Traian Basescu of Romania. (MTI – Econews)
