Parliament to vote on rate-setting body on Monday

Parliament will vote on the external membership of the National Bank of Hungary's Monetary Council on Monday, lawmakers' agenda shows.

The issue will be discussed by the Economy and IT committee in the morning and be put to a vote in the afternoon.

The mandates of the Monetary Council's four external members ended on March 1. Parliament approved the appointments of two replacements for the outgoing members on March 7.

All four new Monetary Council members are expected to be in their posts by March 28, when the body holds its next rate-setting meeting.
