The number of employees fell a further 43,400 in December after declining 26,100 in November, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said.
The number of employees in the private sector dropped 34,500 in December following a 19,500 decline in November. The number of public sector employees slipped 6,700, picking up from a 4,900 fall in November.
Employment fell 0.5% in December compared to the same month a year earlier. Employment was down 0.9% in the private sector and dropped 0.4% in the public sector.
There were 2,682,000 employees in Hungary in December. There were 1,884,000 employees in the private sector, or 70.3% of the total. There were 712,000 employees in the public sector. (MTI – Econews)
