The number of active mobile phone subscriptions in Hungary rose by 15,000 to 10,804,000 from the end of May to the end of June, the National Telecommunications Authority (NHH) told MTI on Friday.
The number of active - numbers that were called or from which calls were made in the previous three months - and inactive subscriptions dropped by 16,000 to 11,866,000 during the period.
Market penetration inched down to 118.6 subscriptions per hundred people in June from 118.7 in May.
T-Mobile's market share, based on subscribers generating turnover, rose to 44.68% in June from 44.62% in May. Telenor's share fell to 32.89% from 32.90% and Vodafone's slipped to 22.43% from 22.48%.
NHH said 5,349 subscribers changed service providers while keeping their telephone number in June. Some 337,800 subscribers have done the same since number portability laws were introduced in Hungary from May 1, 2004. (MTI-Econews)
