The number of active mobile phone subscriptions in Hungary fell by 27,000 to 10,789,000 from the end of April to the end of May, the National Telecommunications Authority (NHH) told MTI on Wednesday.
The number of active - numbers that were called or from which calls were made in the previous three months - and inactive subscriptions dropped by 17,000 to 11,881,000 during the period.
Market penetration inched down to 118.7 subscriptions per hundred people in May from 118.9 in April.
T-Mobile's market share, based on subscribers generating turnover, rose to 44.62% in May from 44.42% in April. Telenor's share fell to 32.90% from 32.96pc and Vodafone's slipped to 22.48% from 22.62%.
NHH said 4,074 subscribers changed service providers while keeping their telephone number in May. Some 332,400 subscribers have done the same since number portability laws were introduced in Hungary in May 2004. (MTI-ECONEWS)
