Hungary has focused on nuclear safety and accident prevention at bilateral talks on energy cooperation with China, National Development Minister Tamás Fellegi said on Saturday.Fellegi said in his written reply to Lajos Oláh that ways of cooperation will be specified in detail in the near future.
Regarding an agreement on railway cooperation, Fellegi said it will involve Chinese freight transports to Europe passing through Hungary. It will also involve the reconstruction of existing railway lines, and the planning and development of new railway lines and infrastructure, as well as the development of trains and carriages, logistics modernization and research and development in railway technology. Chinese and Hungarian experts will assess further means of cooperation based on the favorably geographical and infrastructure characteristics of Hungary, Fellegi said.
A cooperation agreement on public road, air and water transport involves Chinese partners to participate in the planning, construction and maintenance of motorways, roads and bridges. The agreement also covers the planning, construction and maintenance of river ports and airports, he added. "The framework and form of cooperation will be prepared in the second half of this year," Fellegi said.
