Prime Minister Viktor Orbán cast doubts over the widely expected appointment of Economy Minister György Matolcsy as the next central bank governor Friday. In his regular interview on public radio, Orbán denied having any plans of a government reshuffle, which would imply that Matolcsy will retain his current post. Government sources speculated when asked by Napi Gazdaság Online that the most likely scenario for the time being is Matolcsy staying as minister, especially since his parting would likely have meant reorganizing the economy ministry, something that seems a risky venture hardly a year before the next general elections.
