Industrial producer prices up 7% yr/yr in October

Hungary's industrial producer prices rose 7% yr/yr in October and were down 1.0% compared to September, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Thursday.

The twelve-month increase compares to a 5.3% rise in May, a 7.9% rise in June, a 9.5% increase in July, a 9.7% rise in August and 9% in September. The monthly decrease follows just 0.1% rise in September and the first fall since July 2005. Producer prices for domestic sales rose 10.6% year-on-year in October and were 0.2% down from September. Producer prices for industrial exports in forint terms rose 4.4% year-on-year in October and were down 1.7% from September. Monthly export prices fell in line with a 2.7 % strengthening of the forint against the euro and a 1.8% firming against the US dollar. Compared to October 2005, the forint fell 6.2% to the euro and 1.2% to the dollar, KSH reported. (Mti-Eco)
