Senior IMF Regional Representative for Central Europe and the Baltics Christoph Rosenberg will pay a visit to Hungary to hold unofficial talks with the new Hungarian government, Irina Ivaschenko, head of the fund's Budapest Office, told MTI.
Rosenberg will stay in Hungary for a few days to unofficially discuss the economic situation and economic prospects with senior government officials, Ivaschenko said.
The aim of the visit is to establish contacts with the new government, and it has no bearing to the quarterly review of Hungary's standby arrangement with the IMF, Ivaschenko added.
An IMF delegation will arrive for the next regular review of the standby facility later in June. (MTI – Econews)
