Hungary's trade deficit €258.1 mln in August

Hungary's trade deficit was €258.1 million August, €187.4 million less than in the same month a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday in a second reading of the figures.

The latest deficit figure is €29.8 million less than the preliminary figure published on October 3. The revised figure brings the January-August trade deficit to €1,679 billion, €30 million less than the preliminary figure, and €382.5 million less than in same period in 2005. In euro terms, August exports rose 15.3% year-on-year to €4.423 billion, and exports in January-August increased 16.1%  year-on-year to €36.609 billion. Euro-term imports were up 9.4%  year-on-year at €4.681 billion in August, and they rose 14%  year-on-year in January-August to €38.289 billion. In volume terms, exports were up 16.3%  year-on-year in August and imports rose 13.9%. Eight-month export volume rose 15.9%  year-on-year and import volumes increased 11.5%. (Mti-Eco)
