Gross monthly wages in Hungary rose 8.4% in the twelve months to September, while net wages increased 7.4% in the period, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Tuesday.
Real wages calculated with September twelve-month inflation of 5.7% remained unchanged 1.6% yr/yr in September. Gross wages rose 9.0% in the business sector and increased 7.1% in the public sector in the year to September 2008.
Twelve-month gross wage increase accelerated 1.3 percentage points and net wage increase accelerated 0.9percentage points from August.
In January-September gross wages rose 8.0% and net wages were up 7.2% resulting in a 0.5% increase in real wages calculating with 6.7% consumer price inflation.
Nine-month gross wage increase was 8.1% in the business sector and 5.6% in the public sector, while net wages rose 1.3% and fell 1.0%, respectively. (MTI-Eco)
