Hungary's food supply was and is not under threat, Agriculture Minister József Gráf said, a day after some food companies were forced to shut down or scale back production because of the introduction of restrictions on big gas consumers.
The gas restrictions do not affect food producers, such as makers of dairy, meat and bakery products, Gráf said. After a short and temporary interruption on Wednesday, there is no longer any impediment.
The ministry has drawn up a list of food companies that must operate, without exception, in the interest of supplying the general population, Gráf said. (MTI – Econews)
