Hungary's December trade gap shrinks to €81 mln on exports

Hungary's trade deficit narrowed in December from the previous month as exports rose faster than imports, the statistics office said today.

The deficit was €80.6 million ($104.8 million), compared with €115.6 million in November and €130.4 million in the same month last year, the office said in a statement. Exports totaled €4.8 billion, 12.6% higher than in December 2005, while imports rose 11.1% to €4.9 billion. The full-year shortfall was €2.13 billion, compared with €2.9 billion in 2005. (Bloomberg)
