Hungary wheat harvest expected to be around 4m tons

Hungary's wheat harvest is expected to be around 4 million tons this year, Rural Development Ministry state secretary Gyorgy Czervan said at a press conference in Budapest on Monday, after a meeting with the National Harvest Coordination Committee.

Farmers have harvested 76% of the wheat crop thus far, Czervan said.

Last year, Hungary's wheat harvest was 3.76 million tons.

This year's wheat is of good quality and the weather is favorable for harvesting, Czervan said.
