Hungary and Taiwan have signed an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation, MTI learnt.
Hungary is the sixth EU member state to sign a double taxation avoidance agreement with Taiwan. The agreement was signed on Monday by Stanley Kao, head of the Taipei Representation Office in Budapest and Ádám Terták, head of the Hungarian Trade Office in Taipei.
Hungarian imports from Taiwan came to €815.7 million in 2009. Hungary's exports to the Asian country totaled €28 million.
The biggest Taiwanese investor in Hungary is electronics maker Foxconn, which employs almost 6,000 workers at three plants in the country. (MTI – Econews)
