Hungary slipped to 47th place from 41st on the World Bank's latest “Doing Business” list, an annual ranking of countries based on the ease of doing business.
Hungary made just one reform during the year that makes it easier to set up a business, the “Doing Business” report said.
Hungary was behind Slovakia, in 42nd place, and Bulgaria, in 44th, but ahead of Poland, in 72nd, and the Czech Republic, in 74th.
In a breakdown by area, Hungary ranked the highest, 14th, for enforcing contracts. It ranked the lowest, 119th, for protecting investors, and 122nd, for paying taxes.
