Hungary will submit to Brussels on Friday a report on its economy in 2005, Finance Minister János Veres announced.
The report contains an ESA budget deficit equivalent to 6.1% of GDP. The figures show Hungary is still within the deficit target and has met its commitments, Veres said. He added that figures from the Central Statistics Office (KSH), the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) and the Finance Ministry show Hungary's public debt was equivalent to 58.4% of GDP at the end of 2005, under the 60%-of-GDP maximum allowed under the Maastricht criteria.
