Hungary reopened its entire airspace on Monday, air traffic control company HungaroControl told MTI.
Hungary's airspace was closed from 7pm on Friday as a cloud of ash from a volcano in Iceland reached the country.
Passengers with tickets for flights from Ferihegy international airport are asked to first call the airlines they are travelling with to find out when their flights can leave before coming to the airport, said Mihály Hardy, spokesman for airport operator Budapest Airport. Most flights are not yet ready for takeoff and airports at many destinations are still not allowing aircraft to land, he added. (MTI – Econews)
