New passenger car sales in Hungary fell 40% to 51,069 in the first half from the same period a year earlier, data compiled by the Hungarian Association of Vehicle Importers show.
Suzuki remained market leader, selling 8,934 cars in H1, 38% fewer than in the same period a year earlier. The runner-up was Opel, selling 5,211 cars, down 47%.
Ford sales were nearly halved to 4,944, and Volkswagen sales dropped 40% to 4,146. Toyota sales slipped 29% to 3,980. Renault sales dropped 21% to 2,659 and Skoda sales were down 57% at 2,609.
Sales of commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tons also dropped about 40% to 7,054 in H1. Sales of commercial vehicles over 3.5 tons dropped 62% to 1,501. (MTI-ECONEWS)
