Hungary laid the cornerstone of 65-kilometer stretch of the M6 motorway between Dunaújváros and Szekszárd.
The stretch is to be completed by March 31, 2010, said József Mészéros of Porr AG, one of the companies in the consortium that is building the stretch. Archaeological work along an eight-kilometer section of the stretch might cause problems, he added.
Asked whether the global financial crisis would affect the project, Mészéros said it would not. The financing agreement had already been signed and the financial close of the project took place on Wednesday, he said.
