Hungary's gross domestic product (GDP) stayed unchanged in the second quarter from the first quarter of 2010 according to seasonally and calendar-adjusted figures, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first reading published on Friday.
GDP grew an unadjusted 1.0% and a workday-adjusted 0.8% from Q2 2009.
Seasonally and calendar-adjusted calculations – excluding calendar- as well as one-off effects, used by the Eurostat – show that GDP rose 0.1% yr/yr in Q2 GDP.
According to the first two measures Hungary's GDP started to rise yr/yr in the first quarter but it still declined on the year according to seasonally and calendar-adjusted calculations. GDP contracted for five consecutive quarters up to the fourth quarter of last year according to each calculation. (MTI-Econews)
