Freight volume in Hungary dropped 9.7% to 71.980 million tonnes in Q2, declining further from the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Thursday.
Calculated in freight-tonne-kilometres, performance rose, by 4.0% in Q2 to 12.594bn freight-tonne-kilometres, increasing yr/yr now for the third quarter in a row after steady decreases between Q2 2008 and Q3 2009.
International freight volume rose 13.8pc and international freight-tonne-kilometres rose 9.5pc yr/yr in Q2, while domestic freight volume decreased 14.7pc and its tonne-kilometre performance dropped 8.1pc in the period.
First-half freight volume contracted 2.8pc to 130.251m tonnes while H1 freight-tonne-kilometres rose 4.8pc yr/yr to 24.850bn, KSH said.
Freight volume in Hungary dropped 11.9pc in 2009 after a 3.8pc increase in 2008.
Calculated in freight-tonne-kilometres, full-year performance dropped by 6.3pc in 2009 after a 0.7pc decline in 2008. (MTI-ECONEWS)
