Freight volume in Hungary dropped 3.1% to 58,295 million tonnes in Q1 from the same period a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.
Calculated in freight-tonne-kilometres, performance rose, 5.3% in Q1 to 12,257 billion freight-tonne-kilometres, the second increase after the one in Q4 2009 which was the first yr/yr rise since Q2 2008.
Freight volume in Hungary dropped 11.8% in 2009, to 303.212 million tonnes according to figures revised on Wednesday.
The full-year decline came after a 3.8% rise in 2008. Freight volume dropped yr/yr each quarter of last year after rises in 2008.
Calculated in freight-tonne-kilometres, full-year performance dropped by 6.2% to 50.217 billion freight-tonne-kilometres in 2009 after a 0.7% decline in 2008.
International freight volume and performance in freight-tonne-kilometres each grew 9% yr/yr in Q1, while domestic freight volume decreased 9% and its performance dropped 5%. (MTI-ECONEWS)
