Freight deliveries by Hungarian logistics companies fell 2.3% in the third quarter of 2011 from a year earlier in terms of freight-tonne kilometres and fell 11.0% if measured in tonnes, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Monday.
The number of freight-tonne kilometres, at 12.572bn, fell 2.3% yr/yr in the third quarter of 2011 after a 1.2% rise in the second quarter. Freight-tonne kilometres rose 0.8% in 2010.
Hungarian companies carried 69.759m tonnes of goods in Q3 2011, down 11.0% from the same period of 2011. Freight deliveries measured in tonnes fell 6.8% yr/yr in Q2 2011 after falling 7.6% in 2010.
Domestic deliveries fell 16.3% in Q3 2011 to 47.454m tonnes after dropping 11.5% in Q2 and dropping 14.3% in 2010. International deliveries were up 3.0% in Q3 2011 at 22.304m tonnes after rising 3.7% in Q2 2011 and 11.0% in the full year of 2010.
