National Economy Ministry György Matolcsy on Thursday said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s earlier announced date for Hungary's possible eurozone entry around 2018-2020 was "realistic".
Speaking at a conference organized by the Viewpoint Institute and the European Commission's Hungarian Representative, Matolcsy said it would not be worthwhile to join the eurozone as a weak member.
In February, Orbán said it would be "unimaginable" for Hungary to adopt the euro before 2020.
