Hungary's twelve-month consumer price inflation picked up in March to 5.9% after slowing to 5.7% in February, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Tuesday. Consumer prices rose 0.7% from February.
The figure was above the 5.61% consensus by City analysts polled by MTI and the 5.7% consensus of analysts polled by the business daily Napi Gazdaság.
Consumer price inflation slowed in February after accelerating in the previous three months. A higher-than-expected 5.2% year-on-year headline reading in November was followed by a 5.6% annual rate in December and 6.4% in January. (MTI-ECONEWS)
