Hungary broadband rises, landline number falls in January

The number of broadband ADSL and cable subscriptions rose 18,000 in January to 1.785 million in Hungary. The number of landline telephone connections in Hungary fell to 3.055 million in January from 3.069 million in December, the national Communications Authority (NHH) said on Friday.

The number of land lines per hundred people slipped to 30.51% from 30.64% one month earlier. On landlines, total duration of calls initiated was 502 million minutes in January compared to 500 million minutes in December. The total duration of initiated calls per landline rose to 164.4 minutes from 162.9 minutes, while the average duration per call rose to 3.45 minutes from 3.25 minutes.

The number of broadband ADSL lines grew to 810,000 in January. Cable subscriptions rose around 18,000 to 976,000 in January, NHH said. (MTI-ECONEWS)
