Hungarian and French state secretaries discuss transport priorities before Hungary's EU presidency

National Development Ministry State Secretary Pál Volner held talks with Secretary of State for Transport Thierry Mariani of France on Monday regarding Hungary's program and priorities for its six-month rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union beginning on January 1, the National Development Ministry told MTI on Tuesday evening.

The ministry said that during the talks Volner identified development of European Union transportation policy for the period 2010-2020, review of the Trans-European Transport Networks, formulation of legislation aimed at promoting the expansion of the EU's railway market and the future of shipping on interior waterways as Hungary's objectives in the field of transportation during its impending EU presidency.
