Hungarian airspace open, only two flights cancelled at Ferihegy

Hungary's airspace remained completely open on Thursday morning, while only Helsinki and Munich flights have been cancelled at Budapest Ferihegy international airport so far on Thursday, Spokesman Imre Fehér of air-traffic control company HungaroControl told MTI.

Turnover at Ferihegy airport, including transit flights, was only 20% below normal levels on Wednesday.

Spokesman Ádám Hegedűs of Hungarian national carrier Malév told MTI that ash stemming from the Icelandic volcano has not yet forced the airline to cancel any of its 50 Thursday flights. (MTI – Econews)
