The average occupancy rate at Hungary's hotels was 59.8% in April, slightly down from 60.8% in the same month a year earlier, but up from 53.7% in March, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Monday.
The number of guest nights was up 3.7% year on year in April and rose 9.9% year on year in the first four months of the year. The average occupancy rate at hotels in Hungary was 49.1% in January-April, down from 49.9% in the same period last year.
The gross average room rate was Ft 17,120 (€66) in April, up from Ft 15,850 a year earlier, and gross revenue per available room (RevPAR) was Ft 10,232 in April, up from Ft 9,639 a year earlier. In the first four months, the gross average room rate was Ft 15,134, up 8% from the same period last year. RevPAR was up 6.2% at Ft 7,434.
