The average occupancy rate at Hungary's hotels was 44% in February, slightly down from 44.9% in the same month a year earlier, but up from 39.2% in January, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Thursday. The number of guest nights was up 1.6% year on year. The average occupancy rate at hotels in Hungary was 60.2% for all of 2005, up from 54.6% in 2004. The gross average room rate was Ft 13,833 (€54.2) in February, up from Ft 13,643 a year earlier, and gross revenue per available room (RevPAR) was Ft 6,083 in February, slightly down from Ft 6,123 a year earlier. For the whole last year, the gross average room rate was Ft 15,210, up 9.6% from 2004. RevPAR was up 10% at Ft 9,158.
