GYSEV to make Ft 16 bln investment

GYSEV Rt, the west Hungarian regional railway operator owned jointly by Hungary and Austria, is set to launch a Ft 16 billion infrastructure investment this summer to link Vienna with the south Austrian town of Graz via Hungary for heavy freight traffic, CEO András Szabó said. The project, to be bankrolled mainly from EU sources and by the Austrian government, will also see construction of a Ft 1 billion logistics center in Sopron. GYSEV has recently received a Ft 997 million capital injection to prepare itself for growing freight operation.
