Guest nights spent at commercial accommodations in Hungary were up 5.0% yr/yr in February at 884,000, and also up on 873,000 in January, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
Foreign guest nights rose 6.7% from a year earlier to 402,000 in February, and domestic guest nights rose 3.6% yr/yr to 482,000.
In the first two months guest nights increased 5.6% yr/yr to 1.757 million, with foreign guest nights adding 7.0% and domestic guests nights 4.4%.
The number of guests was 379,000 in February, up 5.3% yr/yr, with foreign guests, 159,000, being 8.6% more numerous than a year ago. Domestic arrivals numbered 220,000, up 3,0% yr/yr. In January and February the total number of guests, 730,000, was 6.2% more than a year ago, with foreign arrivals increasing 9.5% and those of domestic guests adding 3.8%.
In the entire last year, guest nights were up 1.5% compared to the previous year, totaling 19.03 million.
Foreign guest nights rose 1.4% to 9.36 million last year, while domestic guest nights were up 1.6% at 9.67 million.
