Grüne Woche, one of the world's biggest farm product fairs, opened in Berlin on Friday. Hungarian farm minister József Gráf participated at the event, where Hungary is an official partner country for the first time.
More than 40 Hungarian companies, among them 35 farm producers, are showing at the 75th Grüne Woche. The ten-day fair will feature 1,600 exhibitors from 56 countries. It is expected to draw more than 400,000 visitors.
Gráf said Hungary would make priorities of supporting the EU's Common Agricultural Policy, creating a common animal health policy and reviewing the common fishing policy priorities when it takes the revolving EU presidency in the first half of 2011.
The value of Hungarian exports to Germany has doubled over the past ten years. In 2008, about 15% of Hungary's €5.7 billion of farm exports went to Germany. (MTI-Econews)
