Gross monthly wages rose 8.5% to Ft 157,250 (€590) in the twelve months to February, and net wages rose 9.1% to Ft 105,325 during the same period, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday.
In January-February gross monthly wages rose 7.2% year-on-year and net wages were up 8.3%. Real wages in the first two months were up 5.6% year-on-year. Gross monthly wages in the private sector rose 10% year-on-year to Ft 151,576 in February, while gross wages in the public sector increased 5.8% to Ft 171,741. In the first two months of 2006 gross monthly wages in the private sector increased 9.1% year on year and in the public sector were up 5% year on year. Net monthly wages in the private sector increased 10.4% year-on-year to Ft 102,705 in February, and net monthly wages in the public sector rose 6.7% to Ft 112,017.
