National Development Minister Tamas Fellegi told Parliament's Audit and Economy Committee on Monday that the government would sign a support agreement on the Nabucco pipeline in Turkey next week.
The agreement was not signed till now because it did not appropriately reflect Hungarian interests, Fellegi said.
Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said on May 13 there were plans to sign the support agreement with Hungary on the Nabucco pipeline project on June 6, speaking in an interview broadcast on the CNN Turk television channel.
The intergovernmental agreement on the pipeline project was signed on July 13, 2009.
The planned Nabucco pipeline is to bring gas from Central Asia to Europe, reducing the region's energy dependence on Russia.
