Gov't to merge agrarian and tourism marketing bodies with development agency ITD

The Hungarian government plans to merge the state investment and trade development agency ITDH, the agrarian marketing body Agrármarketing Centrum and the state tourism promotion organization Magyar Turizmus into one professional organization, the national daily Magyar Nemzet reported on Tuesday. Zsolt Becsey, state secretary of the National Economy Ministry in charge of external economic affairs confirmed the information of the daily, saying the plan is to create a more focused and cheaper professional organization. An official government decision on the matter is expected by the autumn. The three organizations have a combined annual budget of about HUF 7 billion, Magyar Nemzet reported. (MTI-Econews)
