The government will decide at a cabinet meeting today on the establishment of a HUF 1 billion crisis management fund that will provide one-off assistance to some 30,000 of Hungary's most disadvantaged families, Social and Labor Affairs Minister László Herczog said.
The HUF 1 billion fund will be allocated from budget reserves, Herczog said. It will be supplemented with savings from pay cuts taken by ministers and other state leaders, and it is hoped donations will also be made to the fund, he added.
One-off assistance payments of HUF 20,000 – HUF 50,000, or under special circumstances up to HUF 100,000, would be made to struggling families who apply for support from the fund. (MTI – Econews)
