Government to extend use of Széchenyi Card to agriculture

The government decided to extend use of Széchenyi Card credit to Hungary's agricultural sector, government spokeswoman Anna Nagy announced.

Rural Development Minister Sándor Fazekas said that family farmers as well as SMEs operating in the agricultural sector will be eligible to use the Széchenyi Card.

Those eligible will be able to use the card to obtain loans of a maximum of HUF 25 million and a minimum of HUF 500,000 to finance all types of agricultural activity. The government will provide support amounting to 2% of interest for credit secured via the card. The loans will have an expiration of three years, and will be free-purpose ones.

The Agrárvállalkozási Hitelgranacia Alapitvány will guarantee the loans.

Family farmers and agricultural SMEs will become eligible to use the Széchenyi Card during the first half of this year.
