General budget reserves can cover the fall in revenue because of the annulment of the property tax on homes, Finance Minister Péter Oszkó told MTI on Wednesday.
The tax could be made constitutional by correcting just a few words, but with just two parliamentary sessions - of about four working days - before general elections there is not enough time for that, Oszkó said. Technical preparations could be made so that the new parliament could submit the regulations again “if it wants to make a sober decision,” he added.
Hungary's next general elections are slated for April. (MTI-ECONEWS)
