Forint firms as dollar weakens

The forint traded at 273.26 to the euro early Monday, firming from 274.60 late Friday.

The forint firmed as the dollar weakened after G20 finance ministers agreed at the weekend not to devaluate their currencies to boost competitiveness and ahead of a speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke in which he could announce new monetary stimulus measures.

The forint traded at 194.38 to the dollar early Monday, strengthening from 196.90 late Friday. (MTI – Econews)
