Finance Minister János Veres said on Thursday the governing Socialist party is committed to meeting the criteria for euro adoption by 2008 and will launch public sector reforms if re-elected in April.Veres told a meeting of foreign journalists, "We continue to be committed to meeting the euro criteria by 2008, and we believe the criteria can be fulfilled by 2008," reported Reuters. Veres said the 2007 budget should be based on new legislation embracing reforms in state administration, local governments, health care and education.
