The number of new vehicles registered in Hungary reached 5,580 in June, up only 0.4% from a year earlier, data published by auto industry researcher Datahouse show.
The twelve-month increase slowed sharply from 16.3% in May, as commercial vehicle registrations rose but the number of registration of new cars, buses and motorcycles fell from a year earlier.
The number of new car registrations in June totaled 4,194, down 1.5% from a year earlier.
New vehicle registrations totaled 31,032 in the first six months, rising 11.3% from one year earlier.
The number of new passenger cars registered in the first half of 2011 totaled 23,112, up a moderate 7.3% from a year earlier, and still down 41.9% from the respective levels in 2009.
A total of 829 new light commercial vehicles were registered in June alone, while the H1 total was 4,788, up 7.1% and 26%, respectively, from a year earlier.
Heavy commercial vehicle registrations rose by a sharp 72.8% to 299 in June, and they more than doubled from 895 to 1,867 in the first six months.
June saw just ten new bus registrations compared to 23 twelve months earlier, while the 101 buses registered in H1 were 7.3% less than a year earlier.
Motorcycle registrations fell almost by a fourth in one year to 248 in June, falling only slightly less, by 24%, to 1,164 in H1.
