The volume of passenger traffic at Budapest Ferihegy International Airport was flat around 2.4 million in the third quarter of 2009 as compared to Q3 of 2008 after falling 3% yr/yr in the second quarter, the Central Statistics Office reported on Wednesday.
The airport received 27,600 flights in the third quarter of 2009, down 2% from Q3 of 2008, while the volume of cargo transported via the airport fell 14% yr/yr during the third quarter of this year after dropping 30% yr/yr during Q2.
The volume of passenger traffic at Budapest Ferihegy International Airport declined 6% yr/yr to 6.2 million during the first nine months of 2009, while the airport serviced 84,700 flights in Q1-Q3, down 7% yr/yr.
The volume of cargo transported via the airport declined 21% yr/yr to 38.8 tons in the first three quarters of the year.
The volume of passenger traffic at Ferihegy exceeded 300,000 during the first three quarters of the year with five countries - Germany, Great Britain, Italy, France and Switzerland.
Hungarian national airline Malév carried the most passengers at Ferihegy Airport during the first nine months of the year, followed by Wizz Air, Lufthansa, EasyJet, British Airways and Travel Service. (MTI-ECONEWS)
