February fiscal deficit Ft 6.5 bln under ministry's forecast

Hungary's general government deficit was Ft 295.1 billion in February, Ft 2.5 billion under the Finance Ministry's forecast of Ft 297.6 billion, the ministry announced on its website on Tuesday. The figure is cash-flow based and excludes local councils.
In January, the general government deficit was Ft 140.4 billion, improving from Ft 198.4 billion in the same month a year earlier. The ministry targets annual deficit of Ft 1,545.8 billion, or 6.6% of GDP. For the first quarter, the ministry forecasts a deficit of Ft 698.66 billion, or 3% of GDP.
