Hungary's farm producer price index rose 0.7% in 2005 from a year earlier as crop prices fell 0.6% and live animal and their product prices were up 1.8% in the period, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Monday. Farm gate prices rose 9.4% in December 2005 from a year earlier as crop prices increased 19.7% and live animal and animal product prices rose 0.7% year-on-year. Hungarian farmers' terms of trade improved 1.2% in 2005 from a year earlier, as agricultural input prices fell 0.5%, as against 0.7% rise in output prices. Farm gate prices fell 5.4% in 2004 compared to 2003, with crop prices down 13.8% and animal product prices up 3.9%.
