EU commissioner calls for start of reforms to boost employment

László Andor, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, called for the start of reforms to boost employment at an informal meeting of European Union labor ministers and state secretaries near Budapest.

Reforms that affect the demand and supply sides of the labor market in equal part must be started now, Andor said in Gödöllő.

The Europe 2020 strategy, the EU's ten-year economic reform package, aims to boost the average employment rate in the EU from 65% to 75%, he added. (MTI – Econews)
