Ecostat shows 4.1% GDP growth in 2005

Hungary's GDP had grown by 4.1% in all of 2005, as well as by 4.1% in the last three months of the year, economic think tank Ecostat reported on Tuesday.

The preliminary report said the growth had been driven by industry, construction and export-related services, while agriculture slowed considerably. Ecostat said it expected 1.3% of GDP growth figures in the eurozone for 2005 and 1.6% in the entire European Union. Hungary's GDP growth was 4.6% in 2004 and 3.4% in 2003.
