Ecostat's combined consumer and business confidence index rose 6% in the last three months, Ecostat said on Tuesday.
Ecostat's TOP-100 index, a measure of confidence at Hungary's hundred biggest companies, rose to 64.5% in May, 4 percentage points higher than in April.
Ecostat's consumer-confidence index rose for the first time this year in May, jumping 8.2 percentage points to 72.5%.
Ecostat's index for SME confidence index measured 62.5% in May, up 8.2 percentage points from February. Business expectations of mostly domestic enterprises sharply declined in the last twelve months, but the improving figures of the previous quarter and especially the previous month have eased the negative trend, Ecostat said.
