Hungary's industrial output fell an unadjusted 7.0% and a workday-adjusted 9.3% in November from the same month a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Friday. The decline slowed from an unadjusted 12.9% and an adjusted 10.8% in October.
In a month-on-month comparison, industrial output fell 1.3% in November, according to both adjusted and unadjusted figures, after rising for two months in a row. In January-August 2009, industrial output rose four times and fell as many times from the previous month.
In January-November 2009, industrial output was down 19.1% from the same period of 2008.
Both the adjusted and the unadjusted twelve-month figures show a slowdown in the decline, and both are the smallest drops in the downward trend typical of the entire 2009.
The decline in industrial output has been uninterrupted since October 2008, while the adjusted figures have shown a steady fall since January. (MTI-ECONEWS)
